Missions

Rom. 10:14-15 – How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

We believe in the Great Commission and our prayer is not to simply be missions-minded, but to be missions-hearted. We currently give about 10-12% of our budget to missions support. Throughout the year, we have missionaries come to present their ministry. We support five ministries that are involved in the work of missions/church-planting and getting the gospel around the world.

  1. Special Church-Planting ProjectRestricted country location. We support and encourage national pastors in a country where the name of Christ is not encouraged and where persecution is regular against pastors and their families. We pray for the persecuted countries around the world each week in our services. The link above will direct you to The Voice of the Martyrs where you can read more about the needs of these dear brothers and sisters in Christ who suffer more than we will probably ever know.
  2. Lighthouse Baptist Press – Rapid City, South Dakota. This local church ministry is headed up by Bro. Mike Petrocco, who is retired from the USAF. From their website, “We never charge for the Word of God to be produced or assembled!  We print John and Roman booklets for missionaries and church planters, and for our seedline churches to help us assemble.  Every Monday and Tuesday we meet at the press to print, assemble, trim and staple booklets, and then we ship them – at all no cost to the missionary, church planter, or seedline church.”
  3. The Gospel Project – Under the direction of Dr. Breckenridge Merkle. From their website, “At the Glory Project we work with indigenous churches, leaders, and ministries to build the kingdom of God in Southeast Asia. True transformation occurs only when the local church identifies their needs and others are mobilized. Therefore, at The Glory Project we seek to make disciples and reproduce the church of God in Southeast Asia.”
  4. Japan Baptist Fellowship – Tokyo, Japan under the direction of Missionary Ken Taylor. From their website, “We envision people and communities in Japan and globally, transformed by the love and power of Jesus as we partner with mission-focused church movements. JVENTURE exists to build reproducing church communities through the transforming gospel of Christ.”
  5. Village Ministries – From their website, “VMI is a non-denominational Christian Ministry designed to take both the Gospel and teaching of God’s Word to the people of the world. The target areas are villages and remote cities that ordinarily would not be exposed to missionary activity or Bible teaching. Our American and Indigenous partners serve on four continents. Most of the countries served face increasing persecution, so for their safety they are not listed on our website.”
