Why Gather?

…To sing

Theology sets the standard for the music, and not the other way round. This means we do not use worldly standards for our music, but strive to exalt and glorify Christ in our music selections.

Too many churches entertain the lost instead of edifying the saints. Most modern so-called Christian music is written by paid entertainers and has little to no theology.

Our congregational singing includes both well-loved hymns from centuries past to newer hymns written by the likes of the Gettys, Grace Community Church, Sovereign Grace Music, and others.

…To preach the Scriptures

The expositional preaching of God’s Word is the foundation of Sunday worship. We study and proclaim from the Bible that the chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.

…To worship as family

On Sundays at YBC, there is no mandated age-specific service. We encourage families to gather for worship together as a family. Hearing little ones in the congregation brings joy as does watching parents holding a Bible or hymnal for their children.

We do have a small class available for little ones during the Bible Class Time (9:45-10:30am) along with a nursery room that you are welcome to use. All volunteers are approved by church leadership to work with children. Our Child Protection Policy can be downloaded below.

…To behold Christ

All things were made by and exist for the glory of Jesus—(Col. 1:15–20). The entire Bible is about Jesus (John 5:39) and in every service we preach Christ from every page and every verse.

The only good news for mankind is the Gospel which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Salvation is all of God and none of man. The call to salvation comes from the Holy Spirit alone and is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Our messages are not based on how to be a better you or some other worldly self-esteem nonsense. Each message is designed to help true believers become more like the Savior today than they were yesterday and more like Him tomorrow than they are today.
